I wake up every morning giving God the praise and thanking Him to be able to live another day! Another day to passionately pursue my purpose of helping others through teaching the game of basketball.

Basketball has been a part of my life ever since I was four years old, I was introduced to the sport of basketball by my biological father. I was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, and the state of NC, lives and breathes basketball, so the passion for the sport started at an early age. At the age of 6, I started playing in youth leagues in the Charlotte area.

My family relocated to Tulsa, Oklahoma when I was 9 years old and I continued to love this sport throughout my youth to teenage years. I was blessed to be able to play in some great youth leagues and have some amazing father figures as coaches along the way. I played High School and AAU basketball in the Tulsa area, with some great programs.

I continued my playing career after High School. I received a scholarship to play at Saint Gregory’s College (Junior College) in Shawnee, OK. After two years at SGC, I was blessed to continue my playing career at Colorado State University-Pueblo (CSUP). The Gift that God blessed me with to play basketball, paid for my education and formed some amazing relationships.

After my playing career, I continued my education and earned my Master’s Degree from the University of Northern Colorado in Sports Administration. My plan was to start a career in coaching at the college level, but God had other plans. I knew my passion for basketball, would eventually become my career choice.

I started a Sports Performance Company with a business partner in Tulsa, OK. When you hear the saying, “Great things, start from small beginnings”, this was definitely the case. We started with four athletes, and we grew to 100’s, with plenty of challenges along the way. After about 10 years in the Strength and Conditioning industry, and coaching my daughter/son’s AAU and school teams. I knew God was calling me to do more for His Kingdom through the game of basketball.

God shut some doors, that I wanted to keep open, and he opened some others that he pushed me through. That’s when I started my Basketball Skill Development and Sports Performance Company, Travis Washington Basketball. I am able to reach and teach the next generation through the gift that God blessed me with. I started in Tulsa, OK and now have expanded my services to the Kansas and Missouri area. My goal is to ultimately take this God Given Gift worldwide. I have been blessed with a Gift from God, my Gift back to Him is to grow his Kingdom by using basketball as a resource.

ALL GLORY GOES TO GOD!!
